**Check if a health app is DHA certified: the key facts**

| What was checked | What it means for you | How to verify | Next step |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| The registry shows the system's name, the company, its category (such as mHealth), the certification type, the status, the issue and expiry dates and whether the certificate is digitally signed. | If an app is not listed, or its status is not Active, ask the provider before you share your health information. | Example: My Wellness Health's listing is at https://certification.dha.go.ke/listing/CERT-2026-SJ4B36Q6. | Check the website named in the listing matches the app you are using. |

## Check if a health app is DHA certified: your questions answered

**Q: Where is the registry?**

A: At certification.dha.go.ke, run by the Digital Health Agency. Each listing has its own page, for example certification.dha.go.ke/listing/CERT-2026-SJ4B36Q6 for My Wellness Health.

**Q: What should I look for in a listing?**

A: That the status is Active, that the expiry date has not passed, that the company and website match the app you are using, and the category (an mHealth app should be listed as a mobile health application).

**Q: What if the status is not Active?**

A: Do not assume the app is certified. Ask the provider for an explanation, and check again later.

**Q: Can I verify the certificate document itself?**

A: Listings link to the digitally signed certificate and to a signature verification service, so you can confirm the document came from the Digital Health Agency.

**Q: Is an app that is not listed unsafe?**

A: Not necessarily, but it has not been certified by DHA. Ask how it protects your information and whether it has applied for certification.
