**Q: What are the normal ranges?**

A: Blood pressure: below 140/90 mmHg; 180/110 or higher is urgent. Fasting sugar: below 5.6 mmol/L normal, 5.6 to 6.9 prediabetes, 7.0 or higher diabetes. HbA1c: below 5.7% normal, 5.7 to 6.4% prediabetes, 6.5% or higher diabetes (Ministry of Health Kenya, 2025).
