## High blood pressure screening in Kenya: who, when and which test: your questions answered

**Q: What is recommended for all adults from 18?**

A: Have your blood pressure measured.

**Q: What is recommended for adults with a normal reading (below 140/90)?**

A: Repeat at least once a year.

**Q: What is recommended for a reading of 140/90 or higher?**

A: Confirm with repeat readings on another day.

**Q: What is recommended for a reading of 180/110 or higher?**

A: Get medical care urgently.

**Q: Which test is used?**

A: A blood pressure measurement with a validated upper-arm cuff.

**Q: What if the result is not normal?**

A: Repeat readings on different days to confirm. A clinical review, including checks for diabetes and kidney health. A plan: lifestyle changes first, and medicine if your clinician advises. Regular follow-up until your readings are below 140/90.

**Q: What does it cost?**
